Hello everyone! My name is Luke McWilliams and I'm going to be your language assistant at IES Doñana for the upcoming year. I'm twenty years old and I come from Glasgow, which is the biggest city in Scotland. I currently study French and Spanish at the University of Glasgow and I have also studied Italian, German, and Mandarin Chinese in the past. Throughout the year I divide my time between Glasgow and Edinburgh, which is the capital city of Scotland - I'm looking forward to telling and showing you all more about my home country and my two favourite cities in the world!
In my free time I enjoy reading, writing, playing video games, watching TV, and practising languages. My favourite stories to read and write are fantasy and science-fiction stories, and I really enjoy playing strategy and role-playing games. I'm also really keen on history - my favourite period of history is Europe during the Middle Ages and Renaissance, and I can't wait to travel around Spain and visit lots of famous historical sights!
I'm also really looking forward to improving my Spanish while I am in Almonte. This will be my first visit to Andalucía: I have previously been to Salou, Mallorca, Lanzarote, and Santiago de Compostela, where I studied in a language school for one week in the summer of 2015. I'm very excited to work with you all and I hope you are too. Whenever you see my around school please feel free to ask me anything or just have a conversation with me - I'm sure we could both learn new things!
