THE POWER OF WORDS

Amazing advertising campaign for "Always" (feminine intimate hygiene products company) made by the creative agency "Leo Burnett" of Chicago, where the main objective is to foster women's strength, appreciate the value of the phrase "Like a Girl" and stop seeing it as an insult.

  3. Hello! My name is Julia Suárez from 2 Bach B.
It is really sad that women still have to make these kind of commercials because although we are in 2017 and we think that this world is a very civilized one, sexism is something that girls have to live with every single day. While some bosses want female workers to wear high heels and a skirt, men can wear whatever they want to work. What's more, women earn way less than men with the exact same job. These are just two examples out of the thousand evidences of the existing gender gap.
We are all the same! A girl can run like a boy, a girl can fight like a boy and girls are STRONG. We should never let other people bring us down because they think that we are the "weak gender". We know we can do anything that we set our minds to and we are already changing the world.
    Thank you for reading!

In this video, we can see that women are as important as men. So we can't use this expression "like a girl" because it is something negative and girls can feel embarrassed. We are very strong and we can do everything we want.

  15. This video shows how the language could be an influence in young people. Sometimes we use, for example, "run as a girl" to insult someone, mainly at the boys. In my opinion, this video is very interesting because shows things that happens in real life. For this reason, there are a lot of people that suffer, and this type of insults make women an girls feel weaker an lose self confident. I recommend this video, most of all to make people realize this problem and try to change their minds. Bye!

  35. Hello! I'm Virginia from 3A.This video shows us a social experiment, holding fake casting-call with young women, men, boys and girls. Somebody asked them to do things 'like a girl'.Women, boys and men behaved in a silly way, acting out the insulting stereotype. But girls reacted completely differently. They ran and fought as hard as the could. For them and also for me doing something 'like a girl' meant doing it as best as we could. Bye!
