BECAUSE THERE IS NO PLANET B

Hi everyone,

Fridays for future is a pacific movement started by Greta Thunberg, a Swedish schoolgirl. She began Fridays for Future's strikes in 2018 and her idea has spread all over the world.  She has become a symbol, her speeches are inspiring. She doesn't hesitate to address world leaders at the UN and point out the blatant truth: There is no planet B. This is her last speech at the UN Climate Summit. Please, take a look and leave your comments: What part of her speech has inspired you the most?

  4. Hello! I'm Elena from 4B. I'm totally agree with Greta Thunberg because is very sad that she has to be a 16 year old girl who stepped in to open her to eyes to politicians that not everytinhg is money, that the least. They always say that the new generation is the one that is going to change the world but if we follow this step that we are going, we won't reach the third generation. That's my opinion, Bye

  6. Hi, I'm Maria from 4 ESO B, in my opinion we can all help save the world through the actions we do. Associations could be made in each town hall to collect garbage and in exchange they gave a bag of animal feed to give them later to animals that have no home, give talks about climate change, propose ideas.

Hi I'm Juan Fran of 4B, I think this is a speech of those who make you think, look to the past and especially to the future, think that this planet is what will be left to the youngest and the big organizations and the great politicians are the ones who should change the way they see things, although they must not be the only ones since we young people have power and a small act of a big group of people can change the world

  14. Hello, I´m Lucía Ramos from 4ºESO B.
I totally agree with Greta Thunberg's speech, the world is collapsing and we are doing nothing to solve it.
I think we should do something before it is too late, not only for us and our present, but also for the future of our children and grandchildren. I also believe that the help of politicians would be extremely necessary, but as Greta says "we are at the beginning of a mass extinction and only talk about money."
The change can be made if you wish.

  18. Hi everyone,
This is Paula Cabrera from 1 BTO A.
It is a speech that undoubtedly convinces all people who see it; climate change and in turn global warming is an alarming problem that in the coming years will wipe out the planet completely.
I am surprised that a girl as young as 15 tries to convince and set an example so that in our own society and in societies after this, the world will change.
If that change does not occur, we will destroy ourselves, too.
The first step is to conscious ourselves, the second is to start saving our planet.
    Bye!

  19. Hello, I'm Jesús Rodríguez from 1BTO A.
This girl is very right in what she says, humanity is coming to an end and nobody does anything to avoid this catastrophe.
I think we should do something, but not two people around the world, but everyone who lives on this planet, not just for us and our present, we must do this for future generations, to leave them a habitable planet, and not destroyed.
We must all change so that this world is habitable in the future

I really agree with Greta Thunberg and I think her reaction is very logical because all this is happening because of us, so it would be very important that we all support her for our best present, our best future and especially to turn our world into what it was.
The work is in our hands, together we can get it!!

  21. Hello, this is José Miguel Bañez from 1°BTO A. I agree with Greta Thunberg's speech, the world is in danger and governments put other minor issues ahead. Although you can not talk about ending him now you have to talk about stopping. Greta says a phrase that teaches us government priority, this phrase is " we are at the beginning of a mass extinction and only talk about money.". We must stop this until we cross the line of no return.

The world is in danger and the people who actually can do something to change it, are just looking away and telling everyone that it will be ok. I think it´s not fair. The next generations are going to live in a broken world because we´ve been ignoring the pain that we were causing and we´ve been focused on problems that are insignificants compared to this one. Now, the young generations have to fight because no one has the right to destroy our dreams.
Greta is an amazing girl that have encouraged a lof of young people to fight, she is my role model.

We, the youth, need to take action on these type of things, we are going to suffer with what others has left behind. All of us need to take a step and do something instead of just crying about it. We talk and talk but we don't do anything. This should inspire all of us to do something about climate change since politicians and important people seems to not care, as she said "we are in the beginning of a mass extinction and all you can talk is money and fairytales of eternal economic growth".

  48. Hello, I'm Silvia Martínez Hartmann from 2°Bachillerato A. I think this video is really interesting and I totally agree with Greta's speech. Greta is a really smart girl who has noticed that the Earth is dying because of our actions and she's trying to stop it by calling people out to make a change. I believe there's very little time to fix what we've done, so we should all work together to protect our home, the Earth. We also must think about the future generations that will find the planet destroyed and uninhabitable. Thousands of animals are already dying because of the pollution and a lot of species will die out in the near future. I want to take part in this movement as many other people from my generation, so I encourage people to join us.

  49. Hi, I´m Adriana from 2ºBTO group B. Personally, I think that although she is right, it isn´t her job to tell the rulers at the different climatic summits. We must all defend the fight against climate change because we haven´t other place to go, but when the population has already done everything in their hands it´s up to those who really have the power to improve the world. The big companies, the governments of the countries must take effective measures because the population, even trying by all means not to contaminate, has to go to the supermarket and practically everything we buy is packed in plastic. What else can we do if they don't change this kind of thing?

  50. Hi,I`m José María López from 2°BTO B and in my opinion we must be aware of the climate change. 51. Hi ! My name is Fernando Espina and I am from 2ºBACH B.
Currently, Gretta Thunberg has become very popular for being the youngest girl fighting against the climate change giving speechs all over the world. In this speech, I absolutely agree with Gretta, we all are guilty of this situation, and now it is irreversible, but we can still do something, moreover it should be now, we can´t wait anymore. We have to save our planet because there is only one planet there is not a planet B. Eventually, my favourite part of this speech is when Gretta said "the eyes of all future generations are upon you and if you choose to fail us, I´ll say we will never forgive you".She means we only have one chance which will dicide our future and if we ignore it we will never be forgiven.

  58. Hi! I'm David Buchynskyy from 2ºbto C. it is true that we and the politicians should do more recycling and ecological activities. But I don't get why people are calling this girl a hero? She hasn't done anything for the planet, just go to the UN and cry because somebody took her childhood. She and her movement is just commercial, people should give more importance to people and scientifics who are actually creating and investigating this phenomenon. In summary, Greta Thunberg should go to a drama art school.

  59. Hey there, my name is Carmelo from 2º BACH B. Even though I agree that contamination is a problem, I couldn't possibly disagree more on the way this issue is being dealt with. It's very disappointing for me to see that a teenager whose mental health is "a little different" is being used by companies as a way to promote their "ecologic" products, or by politicians as an excuse to restrict smaller businesses (even though Europe and America produce very little contamination compared to China or India, who barely have any restrictions). Yes, we should tackle contamination. No, using little children and taxing people up to their eyeballs is not the solution.

  60. Hi! I'm Daria Tomescu from 2ºBachillerato B.
Warming oceans, shrinking ice sheets, glacial retreat, sea level rise, rainforest fires ; these are some of the many factors that should make us terrified of our future even though they're only mere consequences of our thoughtless actions. Climate change is real and we need to take action in stopping it now. While I'm typing this, the largest rainforests in the world are being burnt down to ashes due to our own selfishness. Politicians would never dare to interve because they want to keep us silent and powerless only to continuously fill their pockets with stolen money from ignorant people. Young kids nowadays claim to not care about what's happening with the planet, but they are the ones who will be experiencing the outcome of their foolishness. We need to make a definite change in this dead end cycle, we can't expect someone to come and save us without even moving a finger.

  63. Hello! I'm Fatima Colchero from 2° BACH C. My opinion about Greta Thunberg's speech is that she has really told the truth of what is happening. But my question is: Can a girl of only 16 years, a climate change activist, change what many others haven't achieved or at least not the majority? I really don't think so, because how many people have created and participated in manifestations, leaving their voice to fight with something that is happening and it is impossible to stop without everyone's help? Many, and none or almost none of those protesters have made themselves known throughout the world as this girl has done, but I think they may have done more without being known in the world, because what this girl has informed us is about data that most people already knew; We already knew what were the causes and consequences of climate change. Unfortunately, Greta, even if she continues to visit countries to give her speeches, is not going to be a success, at least I think so and I see so. Because there is an ignorance from the government who really must do something and, in turn, must be achieved by reaching an agreement between all countries. If it is true that each and every one of us must first take that step, but sometimes we question ourselves ( the people who react to this) if it will help us because we don't receive an answer in return or a fact that makes us see that it deserves the worth contributing that bit of help. In conclusion, having or not having support to move forward with the process of improving our home, the Earth; let's never stop contributing that bit of help because who knows, it could be noticed over the years.
